Networking
We have extensive experience in the field of networking, we have installed an estimated 600 Kilometres of Cat5e cabling and have successfully installed switchgear and cabinets in many environments. If you require a single socket or a full network, we would be happy to help – we can install wired or wireless networks. Most of our installations can be scheduled out of hours to minimise disruption.
Projector and Whiteboard installations
This year alone, we have installed 80 ceiling mounted projectors. We use our custom made bracketry to ensure a safe and secure installation terminating in our custom made wall boxes to give an easy to use and clean installation. We will help you in the purchase of whiteboards and projectors from our suppliers giving you the benefit of our secured discounts.
Computer Repairs and Maintenance
Either collecting the computer/laptop from you or dropping it to us, we will quote all repair costs before work commences. We can carry out all necessary hardware and software repairs.
Laptop / Desktop restoration.
If your Laptop or Desktop computer is slowing down due to it getting clogged up with software and system files or it is being passed on to a new member of staff and needs clearing back to the same condition it was delivered in, we can carry out a restore of the operating system and drivers. We specialise in the LFT (Laptops For Teachers) laptops as we created the original image for these.
CCTV Installations
We are able to undertake CCTV installations at a very competitive price. Installing Digital Video Recorders to ensure that all images are recorded at all times – no more worrying about changing tapes – Evidence can be easily taken off of the recorder DIRECTLY to a computer on the network and sent to the Police. We can supply a full range of CCTV equipment, either covert or highly visible to use as a deterrent.
Ideal Educational ICT
In education we are sometimes led to believe that we need to buy expensive , top branded servers to suit our curriculum delivery needs. This is not always true especially in Primary Schools. We have seen many ‘over-engineered’ and costly networks in smaller schools that are now needing to be updated.
The Server
The ideal ICT model consists of a central server which processes user logons and either permits or denies pupils access to files and resources. The server has a shared area for pupil and teachers to share information and an area that pupils and teachers can save work that can only be seen by the user who saved it. Having a server also gives you one place to back up all of your information and a place to share curriculum programs to all of the workstations.
The Workstations
All workstations should be able to retrieve user data from wherever the user is in the school. Workstations should give the user the ability to learn the curriculum unhindered but still have a level of security that will not allow a user to make any changes that will stop the computer functioning correctly or change any preferences that will not be removed when the user logs off.
Workstations can be managed with the use of Policies and Profiles – This allows you to have different levels of access and control for pupils and staff even allowing some administrative privileges to certain users, delegating the ability to change users passwords and carry out administrative tasks.
The Internet
The Internet is probably one of the most valuable learning tools of our time. It is very important that the internet and email facility be available to all workstations. We will help you to get the most out of your internet connection and email.
Support
We believe that good ICT support is the most valuable asset in planning and maintain a high standard ICT provision. We have extensive knowledge in the support of schools either by just giving advice or helping you out of a crisis.
